Take action to save rooftop solar in California

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is proposing to drastically cut net metering, a pro-solar policy which compensates solar customers for the extra electricity they send back to the grid. The proposed decision would:

  • Cut the compensation for the extra clean electricity that solar customers send back to the grid by about 88%.
  • Remove current solar customers from their current net-metering rates five years earlier than promised.
  • Penalize consumers for investing in our clean energy future by charging a solar tax of $57 a month on average.

This decision is not final. Join us in calling on Gov. Newsom and the CPUC to issue an alternate proposed decision that removes all penalty fees, honors the 20-year promise made to existing customers, and ensures that solar and solar plus storage continue to pencil out for all consumers.
